     tbf he is the CEO. If he does not do what is in the interests of the shareholder, they gonna replace him with someone who will.

     @obrhoff I’m not even thinking about the watch bands. The entirety of Apple has been waging some kind of eurosceptic campaign for more than two years now, this is not about the actions of some figurehead CEO. Part of the torment nexus runs on every iPhone out there.

     @konstantin @obrhoff I’m just wary calling it eurosceptic because Apple would do the same to every other entity as they try to dodge regulation in general. I’m worried that it makes Euro-anything sound like a boogeyman, and plays into the populist narrative that all things EU are bad. To me, the EU is getting flak because they are the only ones (able to) doing anything at all at the moment.

     @simeon @obrhoff Let's see: Apple geoblocking individual member states from access to different products and services, spotty or missing regional support, channelling their PR arm with politically charged posts in the eve of the European Parliament elections... reads eurosceptic to me.

     Edit: forgot to add the malicious implementation of every privacy or competition directive...

     @obrhoff@chaos.social @simeon@indiehackers.social @konstantin@toot.iamkonstantin.eu I don't think China has any rules that really impact them that much economically for them to care. China doesn't care much for consumer rights, they don't require them to interop or give up monopoly. They simply have to keep all data they collect within China and unconditionally share it with the CCP.
