@onepict For me the expression "It is what it is" totally sounds like that the person stating that does accept the word the way it is. That is why I have a huge aversion against this phrase.

When I was a child, I remember my grandmothers attitude to an unfair situation.
"It is what it is".
That doesn't mean we accept the world the way it is. We endure.
We have little choice. But we still have hope. We can still make ripples within the world.
Even small ripples can make a difference to someone.
