Yeah there are better ways to argue that AI is bad. It's pure fantasy to even suggest we're passing planetary boundaries. He spends what 8 minutes talking about all the magical advancements corporations are totally going to be able to do using AI any minute now just you wait. Like, if you're concerned about the marketing of that stuff getting too much attention, why are you spreading it yourself? And talking about it as inevitable? It can't even do algebra! We spend billions in concrete and rare metals, and can't make an AI any smarter than a bee! (And that's a generous estimate.) I gave up about 23 minutes in, after he started going on about us becoming crystal computation systems. I highly anticipate the release of his completely fictional scifi space opera, that he seems to be referring to.

It is their argument, Silicon Valley argument that silicon God, a digital one is inevitable, and the first to achieve it will become the absolute monarch of the world.
The reason this is so dangerous the investment and data centers is incredibly dangerous is not in the creation of a super intelligence which is fantasy and he goes on to explicitly say this, but in it's very real and practical and rapidly expanding capacity for pervasive surveillance.

You are accusing him of the thing he's raising alarm about. These are *not* his views. These are the arguments of Altman, Musk, Thiel, Andreessen.
The highly fictional scifi opera he is referring to is the opera Silicon Valley perpetrates to justify pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into data centers that are now threatening the power and water supply of counties that host them.
You have Schmachtenberger 100% inverted.
