    👴🏻Once I'm president, I will punish groups A, B, C, D and E! I promise you this! They will suffer!

    Group A: Yeah! (Although I don't think he'll really punish group A)

Group B: Hells yeah! Make them pay! (But he won't harm group B? We're his base)

Group C: Punish them! Show no mercy! (Except for C)

@mekkaokereke I feel like we should welcome these idiots to the anti-Trump fold after he's eaten their face, but I suspect that the roots of them voting for the face-eater are not resolved. Any advice here?

A big part of me just wants to point and laugh at these idiot Trumpers that Trump is now devastating.

For me, it's a strong no.

The issue is not: "Did this person suffer?"

The issue is: "Has this person let go of the hate that caused them to choose fascism in the first place? Have they made amends?"

If the answer is no, then my answer is no.

Eg: Farmers that suffered under Trump's 2016 trade policies, voted for him again in 2024, and are suffering under his immigration policies, and will suffer under his tariffs.

There are literal ICE raids going on right now, terrorizing people. Many of the people that voted for these ICE raids, are shocked that their prescription drug pricing just increased, and that their federal job offer just went away. They're sad that bad things happen to them personally, but they still want these horrific ICE raids and other ethnic cleansing policies to continue for others.

      They have learned nothing.

In short, if someone tries to throw a grenade at me, but it blows up in their hand? That doesn't make them my brother.

@mekkaokereke I hear all of that. I also think if I laugh at them when they're in a moment of reflection bc Trump just ate their face, they're less likely to move in our direction.

Even if they're still a racist, they might be an anti-Trump racist, which is progress of some kind. It's unlikely that someone is going to flip to a full antifascist/antiracist stance just because they lost a job or health insurance. 🤷🏻♂️

To be clear: fuck everyone that voted for Trump. I do not care why.

      1. I think it's a fantasy that malignant fascists can be made to "move in my direction," in large numbers by my kindness. Some fascists decide to stop being fascists of their own accord when they grow up. This has nothing to do with if their victims smiled at them while they were being beaten. Some really good people that I really respect and look up to, have the ability to be kind to their oppressors. Not me. I don't possess an ounce of that in me.

      2. I don't need any of these people to "move in my direction." I have zero desire to seek middle ground with ethnic cleansers. None. There are more people that find their behavior abhorrent than people that support their actions. What I care about, is making sure that the good people, who outnumber the bad people, have their voices heard, and have their safety prioritized.

I don't want to win over fascists. I want to defeat fascists. I think attempting to win over fascist, is step one of a losing strategy.

@mekkaokereke fair enough. To further clarify, I'm not seeking middle ground with fascists. I'm looking to capitalize on a rare occurrence when they move in my direction. In my particular case, if my brother comes to me saying Trump's tariffs put him out of a job, but yet he still hates LGBT+ folks, I'm trying to figure out whether I tell him shat in his bed, now sleep in it, or whether I should encourage him to consider other people Trump is negatively impacting.

I agree that he probably lacks the ability to empathize, and so this is largely a pipe dream. I'm mainly considering this for my Mom, who really doesn't like the family conflict my brother started by being a fascist.
