Lots of people are saying this, and they're wrong.
The republicans have been telling you what they were forever. You just had been told that this was the best you were going to get, and to accept it.
Now that you know you can get something better, it feels that way.
Also put: "the 'RINO's aren't the "in name only" "

@PopulistRight indeed, but you also have to try to meet people where they are at. "Ok, if they are RINOs, what are you going to do to remove them from 'your' party?"

@sickburnbro I've tried pushing back on "RINO," also. Paul Ryan, John McCain, et-al are the "Mainstream Republican" GOP. Rep Massie is a "RINO" - a Libertarian, who just uses the party-apparatus to get on the ballot.
Our position directly opposes "Republicans" on many points - and, they are abandoning the few points of overlap, such as "family values."

@sickburnbro That should be what primaries are for - but, the results have not been encouraging. Remember Dave Brat? That was a short-lived white-pill. But, he didn't last long, when the big-money went up against him.
Within the current system, all we can do is raise such a ruckus that they give up some crumbs. Maybe win a primary here or there.
In the case of Trump, use his ego - SHAME AND RIDICULE mercilessly, when appropriate. To that end, the Trumpsters / excuse-makers / mockingbirds are our worst-enemy - far more corrosive to our purpose than the leftists.

@PopulistRight what I would caution you is that if you consider trump "your worst enemy" you risk making the perfect the enemy of the good, which is a bad place to be.
What the best thing to do now is say "you *can* get things that you want done - you *can* expect politicians to make empty promises"

@PopulistRight the "good" in trump is that he seems to actually care what normalish people think.
The whole H1B blowup is indicative of this.
He's not a populist, but he's certainly not the types we've had in DC for a while.

@sickburnbro There is no "good" in Trump - other than what we can coerce with pressure. Trump can do more damage than Biden ever could, in some respects - in others, we might gain something, but only if he sees falling poll-numbers by not doing what we want.
