     @gentoobro I understand what you're saying but I think the age of moderation is over, Trump appealed to people's worst instincts and ran a viscerally right wing campaign (regardless of what some of ourguys think) and won big. That's what fascism always was, while the commies wormed their way into institutions the fascists kicked down the door and shot everyone they didn't like.

     Remember, moderates dominate politics. Extremists are most effective not in trying to gain power overtly, but in gently shifting the center point. This is why the left gained so much ground; it was always about taking an inch here and there over and over for decades.

     No, it's because he's a sperg who talks too fast and couldn't read the room. His views on the matter are not uncommon, it's just that the other politicians knew to keep their mouth shut for the moment and to just quietly vote yes on the bill when it comes up.
