the odds of them having a DUI is pretty high and that's gonna restrict them from entering Canada anyway-

@chris The US has a database of convicted felons that Canada has access to. When pardoned they may be removed from that database. However, Canada has its own database of high risk people they won't let in, ie belong to a terrorist group but never been convicted. Personally, I would feel better if there are some reassurances that these violent offenders who tried to commit a coup would absolutely not be let in.
