   Can we organize demonstrations of solidarity?

   I keep having something pass through my mind, "The Million Catgirl March".

   Which, I will say off the bat: cat/puppy/dragon/fox girl/boy/other welcome, and trans issues aren't specifically about trans women (though conservative fury is targeted especially at trans women right now).

   But headband cat ears: easy to make. And symbolism has to be easy to take off, easy to repeat.

   Thoughts?

     Anything we organize will be imperfect; I am up for something better as a name or idea. I am throwing something out there to consider, because I'm not seeing anything else.

     There's obviously parallels to the "pussy hat" protests that happened a few years ago. And a lot of observation at the time was that those ended up being unintentionally trans-exclusionary. So there's some pushback against that here. But it's also wildly imperfect.

     Here, roughly, is a plan, off the cuff:

     - Weekend marches, in whatever city you are in
     - Headband cat-ears as the "default", with guides on how to make them. If you have something else, great! Bring those instead!
     - An explicitly pro-trans, pro-immigrant march
     - Dare I say it... we could have the chant: "Nya, nya, we won't go back!"
     - "Cat ears for solidarity" iconography on your project or organization website

     I've updated the name of it from "Million Catgirls March" -> "Million Cat Ears March". I think it's not as catchy of a phrase, but it's more inclusive, and the inclusivity matters.

     I'm kind of just thinking this through out loud, and I appreciate the feedback; that's what I'm looking for. This isn't something I want to own, it's something I want to kick off.

     And yes: any non-white trans folk who want to lead marches should do so

     I asked @mlemweb how long it would take her to come up with a simple cat ear headband pattern that could easily be replicated
