   @HeliaXyana Just ducking in here to say: that agent was an idiot (and a homophobic misogynist too, most likely).

   Good agents may reasonably make suggestions about the plot/prose, but if they aren't comfortable with the author's world-view they should refer them to a colleague who is.

     I dealt with one agent about two years ago, and he wanted to give my novels a boobjob and make them 'less woke' by changing every gay character to female. 🙃

     It's not my cup of tea to conform like that. I only ended up with him because he was a friend of a friend.
