For as long as I remember, I've gathered things like this. Rocks, twigs, feathers, leaves, things that stand out to me, for whatever reason. The conscious breathing helps not to overthink it.

My mind has already hit the randomizer button on character creation before their introduction, so I can read without any character description, but I appreciate a painted picture.

What I don't like is irrelevant details. If the hair colour isn't part of the story, you don't need to slap one on. I'm much more interested in body language, micro expressions and fidgeting habits.

Let me put on my overthinking cap…

Anything I share or do without monetary compensation, I do for other types of compensation. Occasionally, that's just plotting to see someone's smile.

Perhaps, in that light, giving or sharing is never purely altruistic, and so not really 'for free'. Even if I'd doodle something, fold it into a paper aeroplane and send it out into the universe, I'd do so partially because I yearn for whimsy.

Dark, mossy green. We're at a bit of a wet, rainy forest conflict.

I am a profoundly eclectic artist. Went to art school, had a moderately successful art career, burned out, decided to embrace the varied nature of creativity. Now I make digital art, illustrations, design, make spells, do photography, curate shows, do some amateur botany and philosophy, write a strange fantasy series called Ethereal, and whatever else takes my fancy.💜

I'm liking the zero pressure approach. Making some changes, and rediscovering the rough edges of sketches. I've been "finishing" too much. Need to relearn that rough and dynamic doesn't always mean unfinished. I spent far too many hours trying to "finish" this, only to like the rough sketch a lot more. So, I'm embracing it.

Yes, good point. There is space for a little fun in there. When the subjective is the point of sharing the image, I think that's precisely what you should do.

I dealt with one agent about two years ago, and he wanted to give my novels a boobjob and make them 'less woke' by changing every gay character to female. 🙃

It's not my cup of tea to conform like that. I only ended up with him because he was a friend of a friend.

Currently, Xavier is an adorable, sensitive, curly-haired four-year-old boy who talks in sign language, but if he loses his connection to humanity, his ability to completely silence the Ethereal Realm could be devastating. Everything and everyone would stop.

All that power in someone so young and vulnerable can make me hold my breath.
