Yes, good point. There is space for a little fun in there. When the subjective is the point of sharing the image, I think that's precisely what you should do.

I dealt with one agent about two years ago, and he wanted to give my novels a boobjob and make them 'less woke' by changing every gay character to female. 🙃

It's not my cup of tea to conform like that. I only ended up with him because he was a friend of a friend.

#PennedPossibilities Which of your characters scares you the most? Why is that?

Currently, Xavier is an adorable, sensitive, curly-haired four-year-old boy who talks in sign language, but if he loses his connection to humanity, his ability to completely silence the Ethereal Realm could be devastating. Everything and everyone would stop.

All that power in someone so young and vulnerable can make me hold my breath.

I'm working on a detailed recreation of the 1906 original first-edition cover of Andrew Lang's Olive fairy book. I have found some detailed photos of the front, but I'm struggling to find a good image of the spine, which should also have a charming illustration of hugging fairies and a bat. I hope someone out there might have this book and is kind enough to take some pictures of the spine?

#WordWeavers What are beauty standards like in your world?

While Ethereal is a diverse Realm, with many cultures that each have a sense of beauty, no one understands what attracts Cedric and Freya to Sabre. He's striking but born halfway into the shadows and, at times, looks more like a creepy spectre than a person, so it's funny to Freya and Cedric to publicly, theatrically swoon for Sabre whenever he's being his disconcerting broody self.

What in all the stars? Another disconcertingly hyper-friendly random Christian dude popped up out of nowhere to casually say hi. That's four this week. What is it, convert witches week?

Never shall I ever surrender the quirk of my jargon, diminish my lexicon, or alter my personal vernacular for the sake of evading arbitrary accusations of AI utilisations. The morphemes of my soul shant submit to the pervasive fog the tech bros have inundated creativity with.

We will endure, we will weather, we will withstand and outlast. We will still be writing long after AI time has passed.

"Uuwww what's that?" Patchy asked, amazed at the peculiarly normal-looking man.

"AAAH!" the man exclaimed.

Eddy chuckled. "Nice to meet you AAAH. We need to find some bugs," he explained.

"Buga? What? Oh, I see. Reality 6.0? It's a little out of date, but it seems to be running stable enough. Are you experiencing any issues?" AAAH asked.

"No, but we want to. We need the bugs," Elli shrugged.

"Ah. I'll release the metaphysical chaos monkey."

"Did you expect a fish egg?" the mid-lizard-wife asked.

"No, Hmm. Well, I didn't know what to expect," she muttered.

The mid-lizard gently handed the box-shaped egg to McZartney, who slowly morphed back into his pixie form as he exhaled.

"Hello, my adorable little anomaly," he cooed as he cradled the object.

The mid-lizard smiled kindly."It will hatch in 24 hours. I recommend rest until then and have a feeding of bugs ready for the hatchling."

McZartney's hissing groans called everyone's attention.

"We need peanut butter, a large fork, and seven marbles," the mid-lizard declared. The group stood around in stunned confusion.
"Now!" she added sternly.

Eddy pulled a jar of peanut butter from his backpack. Schissie pulled out a form and handed it to Elli.
"For the marbles," he explained. Elli frowned and read the paper.

"Marble acquisition form?" she asked Schissi. He nodded silently.
