   Here's hoping an unlocked firmware for bambu labs printers comes out soon.

     @quixoticgeek Problem is it's kinda like with Windows. The community that really wants to liberate Bambus is just going to replace the whole controller board with something well-supported and run Klipper (cf nuking Windows and running Linux) or not buy Bambu to begin with.

     It's a narrow middle band that wants to stick with the proprietary stuff but liberate a few aspects they don't like

     @quixoticgeek Klipperizing a Bambu is already pretty easy with your own boards, but it won't give you the same UI or (mostly fake, like "LIDAR") Bambu-specific functionality.

     I wouldn't be surprised if efforts to maintain a jailbroken version of the Bambu firmware ramp up, but I wouldn't hold my breath for the ecosystem around that to have great UX...

     @dalias oh of course. That's kinda what I'm expecting.
