feld (feld@friedcheese.us)'s status on Sunday, 19-Jan-2025 17:25:26 JST feld @gumnos not entirely true. DKIM key TXT records are longer. The TXT record supports an array of text character strings limited to 255 for each string. Traditional bind zone file format? Quote the strings and separate them by spaces - lainy likes this.

Tim Chase (gumnos@mastodon.bsd.cafe)'s status on Sunday, 19-Jan-2025 17:25:28 JST Tim Chase I'm sure I knew this at one point, but (re)learned today that a DNS TXT record has a limit of 255 characters.
(he says noting that it's roughly the length of a Tweet and pondering the ramifications of microblogging-over-DNS which is absolutely horrible…hey, brain, no…stop it, STOP it!)
