@JessTheUnstill @thomasjwebb it depends on the region. Mine does everything formal on Facebook - without it you won't get invited to events as major as weddings and funerals.

@JessTheUnstill I deleted my Threads and am deleting my Facebook end of the month (it's been a lot of work using this time to try to lure friends here). I kinda have to keep ig for business but I might in due time delete that too. I certainly can't stand the app anymore.

@thomasjwebb I mean, I get that some people have to use it as part of their only connection for businesses or community groups or to keep in contact with loved ones who refuse to move. It's been a giant of a network for decades. I was a huge user of it in the past, but barely even opened it over the last couple years. So it's basically no loss other than a few random folks who would still do the "oh something bad happened to trans people, we're going to earn ourselves some "trans ally" brownie points by "reaching out". But basically giving the vibes that they want me to make them feel better about the fact that I'll make it regardless. And then never bother to talk to me any other time. So whatever. Delete that shit and it they really want to find me they can ask my mom or my brother or whatever.
