   I'm not a "numbers chaser" mind you, but I have no problem removing about 95% of people I follow that don't become mutuals.

   Nothing personal - it's just that there are more than enough people willing to engage in amazing bidirectional conversation to clutter my timeline with "read only" material.

     @krishnadraws indeed! I know I give off heavy "old man shaking fist at the sky" vibes most of the time and I can see why people wouldn't want to engage in THAT.. still ... I'd rather be engaging than just reading random shit from random people that I'll never talk to ..

     @krishnadraws 💯 - I actually finally embraced BlueSky as well, but honestly most of the people I converse with over there now I met using Mastodon (or my old Twitter buds) 😆

     There's something oddly appealing to me about the decentralized nature.. it still feels very homey but also deep. We also tend not to get as much "slop" here.... It's more like "people here want to be here" and less "people are here because they feel like they are missing out on self promotion opportunities" ..

     @multiverseofbadness this is why I like Mastodon. It gives me a feeling of community, like the BBS days of yore. Other social media increasingly feels more toxic / echo-chamber-y.
