   So, it turns out, Techbro Rasputin’s FOSDEM talk isn’t because he is a donor, the organisers actually though it was a good idea.

   I guess I’m not sad anymore that I’ll miss the event this year.

     @jens @david_chisnall Random old person story, but:

     I once organized a panel session at FOSDEM that included a couple of famous FOSS personalities and a some MEPs. I found one of the MEPs waiting outside the building, confused: "Usually when I go somewhere, there's a reception set up."

     I was like "yeah well, not here. C'mon in, I'll sort you out."

     To their credit, the MEP shrugged it off, and went into the panel discussion like the pro they were.

     @jens @david_chisnall I feel like I should reiterate that, while organizing the session was something of a stressful experience, that wasn’t due to the MEPs.
