     @kingrat At least this is real money in bribes, not like the SF way, where bribes are: $2000 in cash, a riding mower for your youth sports team and a vacation in some third-tier Chinese city.

     @tito_swineflu that's seattle bribery too. but even so, the kickbacks for Thao were extremely meager. $75K for a negative mailer (which the dude apparently stiffed the printing company on), $300K no-show job for a $300 million housing contract and 10 year renewal of the recycling contract (gotta be worth a few hundred million at least), of which $95K was paid.
