Canada's economy is supposedly now all about "services" but what we really export is stuff we tear out of the Earth”

     @GhostOnTheHalfShell @pluralistic Canada can get goods elsewhere, and they could simply stop sending fossil fuels and a few other necessities to the USA for [say] a month. Might cause some short term pain for Canada, but letting #FeloniousTrump steam roll over them and inflict Tarriffs if they don’t accede to his bullying would be a big mistake; something that will destroy Canada in pretty short order.

     @GhostOnTheHalfShell @pluralistic Anecdotal evidence confirms your assessment: I live in St. Albans, VT, immediately next to a railyard which manages Canadian freight inbound to the US. All day long, it's railcar after railcar of LPG, lumber, and mineral hoppers hauling stuff like Titanium Dioxide. No boxcars, no transporters, no finished goods at all, ever.
