   @altruios @tyami @woe2you @tante Local models are not LLMs. Some of them are valid, if they're ethically trained (consent to use material, auditing for harmful biases, etc.). It's LLMs that are nothing but planet burning information space polluting slop machines.

     @tyami @woe2you @dalias @tante 100% agree google ai is useless and harmful. And mostly waste.

     A distinction might be made for locally run models… the use cases differ drastically than what google is pushing (search optimization).
     As well as power requirements/ scale being more reasonable.

     Again: fuck capitalism. AI is an accelerant. But the direction things are going is due to capitalism, not AI itself.
