   This is still the more real social media than #Bluesky.
   
   Bots and randos have swarmed Bluesky, and that's all just noise. I have way more followers than here, and yeah... for now... more engagement.
   
   But I can't ramble on for thousands of characters.
   
   I can't write how it feels right. I can't turn the phrase without condensing to a pithy burp.
   
   But maybe that "Pithy Burp" training will help me here, where there's longevity possible.
   
   Bluesky will get enshittified. It's abso-fucking-lutely inevitable. Eventually, ads will take over. Then they'll start trying to milk everyone.
   
   Why?
   
   They're a for-profit company.
   
   I pay like $12/mo for the pleasure of self-hosting my own #fediverse instance.
   
   We've proven this works.
   
   Now we're the backup social network. The only alternative with any real security, at all.

     @notroot I see that Mark Cuban may become an investor in the AT Platform and a TikTok alternative. When I signed up at Bluesky, I gave it two years before I would delete it in disgust. I may have been overly optimistic.

     I also read (not yet confirmed) that the Isntrealis have invested in Red Note, so you can expect any pro-Palestine discussions to disappear.

     If it is profit driven, it will eventually shitify.
