It would be really super if today were visa day. It’s overdue and I know it probably won’t be but it would just make my tiny universe and give me just a tiny bit more hope. Whomever the nice bureaucrat who is reviewing cases today, I hope they have a really good coffee and a fabulous breakfast. I 🫥

I would say in any case if it's about you, there should be no issue in calling yourself. Just asking them something like "What is the status?" possibly with the argument "Just checking I did not miss any correspondence from you" sometimes does wonders.
