   I keep hearing about AdMob detections in the Pixelfed app.

   It's a false positive, the source code is public, and you can build it yourself and submit the APK to Aurora and get the same results.

   Pixelfed does not have ads, or otherwise send your data to 3rd party servers other than your own Pixelfed server.

     I think the Google Services library we use for Push Notifications and Expo are to blame, and there is nothing I can do about that.

     We will be shipping a de-googled build for F-Droid, with reproducible builds.

     Lets users self-host a push notification server like Ntfy or NextPush (Nextcloud app). Some Matrix & Mastodon clients already support it.
