   In the face of the inaction and indifference of government officials at all levels, PSL members [Los Angeles branch] have joined in grassroots relief efforts to help working people survive in the face of the devastation. These efforts would not be necessary if we lived in a system where the needs of the people were planned for and provided. Driven only by the short-term interests of money-hungry corporations, authorities are failing the working class at the most critical moment.
