     copyleft cancer that attracts the most dysgenic weirdos is dying

     MIT style opensource continues to grow at a massive rate, because it has commercial value

     for things like frameworks and programming languages, sure.
     
     Linux desktop alternatives for things consumer-grade software are not being invented, or perhaps not even actively maintained. So that means consoomers are trapped in the spyware-activation model for software that won't even run without Windows installed

     Combine that with the fact that homocorps are moving to a cloud subscription model and deplatforming for TOS restrictions

     Is it even possible to buy the latest Excel on CD/DVD-ROM?

     there are a ton of Excel like libraries if you want to spin your own, and I think more of software world will move towards open source (often with some secondary revenue model)

     but it will not be towards the linux style apps like libre-office which aren't very good
