     fsf@hostux.social I've wanted to say this for quite some time - there is no engagement in this account. FSF needs to up their game - this isn't going to cut it.

     Where are the updates on projects? Guix just had a RFC recent - where is the post for the same? What about GSoC participation awareness? What about unmaintained softwares looking for love?

     @amszmidt I've been contributing my patches to Guix. Unfortunately, those contributions do not hold as much value as something like Kubernetes or JBoss in the eyes of a recruiter, at least in India.

     @RecurringBloatware Not sure how that relates to your toot. The FSF isn't a foundation that is trying to get hackers hired, it is an organization that fights for software freedom.

     @amszmidt well then, contributing to GNU was probably a bad idea, because so far, it has been one-sided, and I've not gained anything out of it.

     @RecurringBloatware I’ve been contributing to GNU för close to 40 years. It has been a wonderful ride, learning many things during the way and fighting for software freedom.

     Maybe you should try a bit more? But you shouldn’t contribute if you think it is a way to get a job…. Do it because ut is a learning experience, or that you find software freedom and a 100% operating system important.
