F-droid is magical
Last time I looked for a mahjong hand calculator, like... 6 months ago or so, there wasn't one.
But now there is. Got put there in September.

@Zergling_man Unfortunately F-droid now uses a proprietary google SDK to build all software, thus it's not clear if any software on F-droid is free anymore.

@Suiseiseki @Zergling_man why did this change?

@condret @Zergling_man Most Android software is written to work with the proprietary google SDK and getting software to compile against a 3rd party free SDK instead (even if that's compiled from mostly the same source code) takes a fair amount of work, so they changed to the proprietary sdk.
The "open source" line of thinking and its consequences are a disaster for free software.

@condret @Zergling_man They just don't really care about freedom, thus when it's more convenient to use proprietary software, they use it.

@Suiseiseki @Zergling_man so the fdroid people are resource constrained, lacking the manpower to patch all the software uploaded to fdroid?
