   I can't believe apple used are a thing on the fediverse.
   
   They have all the knowledge needed to be free, but instead they shackle themselves with apple's proprietary software?

     apple did copy a bunch of software under weak licenses from the BSDs, but they made it all extra proprietary (remember that all BSDs are chock full of proprietary software and unlicensed files).
