GhostOnTheHalfShell (ghostonthehalfshell@masto.ai)'s status on Sunday, 12-Jan-2025 11:08:37 JST GhostOnTheHalfShell This is correct typically a rotation is necessary for a single crop farming because by nature deplete the soil of nutrients, the choice is either to apply artificial nutrients such as fertilizers, but if you plant other crops, particularly those that can fix nutrients such as lagoons, and then the soil fertility is restored, and you go back to your cash crop. The other alternative is to put cow poop on the soil.

Coach Pāṇini ® (paninid@mastodon.world)'s status on Sunday, 12-Jan-2025 11:08:40 JST Coach Pāṇini ® What is the purpose of letting fields lay fallow? I don’t get it. Crop rotation is a thing. Having an asset, choosing not to do anything, and then inviting reporters to talk about the angst is…odd.
