I don't talk about my #incontinence much simply because I'm worried it's a topic nobody wants to hear about, but I'm not all that embarassed by it. If you suffer incontinence and need advice, or even if you're just curious, it's a topic I don't mind you bringing up.

Eh, they did offer some device internally, but it seemed too invasive with too many risks and downsides for too little quality of life improvement.

@hellomiakoda I keep wondering how there isn't a neatly fitting artificial… "opening muscle" (what's it called?) available by now.

Keep imagining it like in Stargate but less blue.

The people pleasing part of my brain conflicts with the normalizing disability part of my brain.

People speak of going to the bathroom all the time. There should be no reason it should be unacceptable to mention a diaper change in the same casual mannor.
I think it's weird as fuck there is so much stigma around it.

@Looping @hellomiakoda I gather you find it hard to talk about?

@hellomiakoda @SallyStrange I force myself to talk about it from time to time, to popularize it so that the able-bodied have the opportunity to think about it.

@hellomiakoda @SallyStrange I imagine that we are touching on something intimate, plus our dissonance of living in an able-bodied world.

And yet, from an anti-ableist point of view, we have to talk about it!

In my case, diapers remain the best option for me for a multitude of reasons. I'm glad those work for you. I'm sure the fact I'm not mobility disabled has a big impact on diapers working well for me, as I'm able to change them myself.
