     @Sarahw exactly! that's why i use a #pinephone with #postmarketOS and #sxmo! (not saying everyone should do like me, i am just exploring path for my personal freedom to help make it viable for others...). #linuxphone

     yet using no such device at all is also a valid option...

     But then Apple is just as bad. Both their CEOs have donated to trump as well

     @leditdemathieu @Sarahw /e/os est moins pire, mais pour moi reste android et son écosysteme, c'est se retrouver prisonnier de sa logique.

     avoir un appareil qui boote sur une microSDcard, importer mes scripts bash, utiliser ssh/rsync pour les backup, etc. ie. avoir le meme environnement sur tous mes ordis, est ce qui marche vraiment pour moi.

     (certains choisiront une version de #linuxmobile qui utilise #phosh ou #plasma et "look and feel" vraiment comme un "smartphone". je ne cherche pas ça.)

     @leditdemathieu @Sarahw avoir le controle "total" sur le boot, le bootsector, table des partitions est crucial pour moi. Récemment je suis tombé sur un appareil Xiaomi, qui boote postmarketOS, avant de m'apercevoir que pour pouvoir y booter librement il faut:
     1/ installer une app windows (!)
     2/ créer un compte chez le fabricant (!!)
     3/ demander *l'autorisation* de débloquer le boot
     4/ recevoir un code...

     = logique android, partitions cheloues, lockdown/controle -> intolérable pour moi. :(

     Après le problème est toujours la capacité à trouver quelque chose qui soit clean autant que possible et gérable quand on a des compétences limitées. C'est pas toujours évident malheureusement 😬

     @nomad2035 hmmm from my own experience, it's rarely as simple as "get one new thing and boom!", as the beast has many, many heads...

     have you managed to give up on using: gmail/gapps/gmaps/search/youtube (in my book: proxies *do* count), and to execute no javascript related to google ads, stats, javascript, etc.?

     i have been trying actively for the past 10-15y and my blacklists still probably let stuff through from time to time...
