@ned i'm being an ass and constantly riffing on these unwanted "AI" services sucking up so much water it raises the price for everyone in town kinda deals.
though i don't think the bitcoin narrative was organic. i think somebody motivated was pushing it, because they exactly didn't compare it to any other economic activity
like now microsoft is soaking up power for unwanted bing chat bullshit, but environmentalists aren't trying to set them on fire like they did btc -

@icedquinn Since bitcoin requires no central authority to manage or process, you could also compare bitcoin mining energy used vs the entire world wide banking industry energy used.
