@rysiek Good to see a correction, though it should be far more expressive. But this is EFF, not a bunch of kids in a basement somewhere. They're pros.
I would have expected them to hold fire on their statement until they could do a proper analysis.
Even if the original statement was made in haste, it's odd they opted for the tone of a bunch of grovelling lickspittles, happily throwing people's rights out the window.
If that's what EFF's reflexes look like, then I'm done with them.

@oblomov @noxypaws damage has been done but they recognized and owned up to their mistake, and I can respect that.

@noxypaws @rysiek they still lost a lot of credibility that will be extremely hard if not impossible to recover. Literally nobody with an ounce of attention in tech (or even outside of it) world have ever actually believed that the changes would have been in the positive sense.

"It was our mistake to formulate our responses and expectations on what is essentially a marketing video for upcoming policy changes before any of those changes were reflected in their documentation."

@slothrop yeah, it is not a good look. Still, it's commendable they owned up to their mistake. One can hope that lessons will be learned. Mistakes do happen to everyone.
