@zkat This exact thing you're talking about has made me backburner AP integration on my pet project. I felt like the community itself might be a risk to the whole thing, and that made me think I ought to seriously consider how I wanted to integrate it and maybe seriously invest in defensive moderation tools before I tried anything like that. Like, watching the Bridgy Fed devs get dogpiled on Github and things like that - plus some intransigence from AP originators, it gave me serious misgivings.

@zkat Honestly just any material examples aside, though, doing any serious side quest dev work for me is already emotionally expensive. Embarking on something thinking it'll lead to any kind of unwelcome grief notches it up enough in the risk sense that I almost just don't want to chance it, you know? Like it becomes safer not to participate and contribute, for me.
