   @arcana @mischievoustomato @eemmaa there are tons and tons of nonwhite mormons, latin americans are the largest growing group. There are tons of Latino mormons in the Midwest USA. I have met latino black and korean mormons.

     Last I’d heard the numbers were growing most in Latin America but there are plenty of returned missionaries who have indicated low retention (if they ever really knew to begin with that they’d joined) and kids getting tricked into going in the water with no real indication that they had a clue that it wasn’t just to cool off after a soccer game. Hard to say the degree of truth to the anecdotes
     
     I do know collecting fast offerings as a kid one Hispanic house told me to fuck off because they were catholic and that they always had been
