     >Don't run proprietary malware to implement things, instead use free software, thus things don't constantly stop working due to "expired license".

     There is free software available for GNU/Linux that supports automated installs and management on GNU/Linux and windows, although the name escapes me now.
     
     I'm sure you could get it to support "Azure AD" if you hated humanity that much.

     Ultimately, the people paying the bills decide what gets rolled out to an army of mall cops, the primary qualification, according to multiple members of the C suite, is a body temperature somewhere roughly in the high 90s.

     Windows seems like a good choice here. Even if it wasn't, people paying the bills and what not. They aren't paying me to be a *nix weenie, they're paying me to get it working to spec.
