   @can @yahe They lost the PS4 / Xbox One era and now customers are locked in their platform with their digital library. I don’t see how a next generation will fix this.

     @yahe Phil Spencer also said in an interview that they've lost the console wars to Sony and (paraphrasing) that they won't be able to re-gain that momentum anymore, which underlines that they decided to pivot their Xbox business in a new direction.

     @can Why do you think that M$ will exit the game console market? Can‘t find any current news on that.

     With Microsoft exiting the game console market and Nintendo doing... Nintendo things I guess, there's going to be a big vacuum for PlayStation alternatives in the coming years.

     I think this will be the perfect opportunity for Valve to re-launch their Steam Machines, given the state SteamOS is in. I hope Valve will actually go that route, and not only focus on handhelds.

     Having multiple PlayStation competitors running SteamOS would be awesome. Otherwise Sony will squeeze the console market dry.
