   Reroute To Remain (2002) was the beginning of In Flames' move from melodic death metal to metalcore, but although I didn't take to their later sound, this is a favourite of mine.

   It has themes of alienation, rejection by and disinterest in society, and a resultant sense of isolation. It spoke volumes to me.

     @lashman it's interesting, because I like metalcore in general, but not what In Flames do in/adjacent to that area. Maybe an expectation gap?

     I will have a proper go at their more recent stuff at some point, I'm sure.

     Recently did that with recent Paradise Lost, which I'd bounced off around One Second, and was delighted by what I found.
