@vgnpwr While the economy and productivity have grown a lot, most of that wealth has gone to investors rather than workers wages. So the idea that everyone can get rich from investing ignores how the system actually works.
It's like being both the winner and loser in the same game - you might make some money from investments, but those returns are partially funded by the suppression of wages, including your own.

@vgnpwr Well, I might imply that, but that's not what I said. I think in the end, as a member of society, there is no alternative but to participate in it.
If you would ask me as an individual, I would say yes, invest for sure. It makes sense as an individual. If I look at it from a systemic perspective, it just can't work for everyone. Without poor people, there can't be rich people.
In the end, we just participate in society, but that doesn't mean we aren't allowed to criticize it.

Like I said, I do not wanna argue for that system. So many flaws and so little words to post. But you say: "The profits went merely to the investors." And: "Do not become an investor."
I do not get the point...
