Wiz (wiz@tsundere.love)'s status on Friday, 03-Jan-2025 09:17:56 JST Wiz @lss @Suiseiseki @deadheat @romin what you're referring to as "Linux" is, in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU + Linux. 翠星石 likes this. -

翠星石 (suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com)'s status on Friday, 03-Jan-2025 09:20:03 JST 翠星石 @lss @deadheat @romin It will never be the "year of the Linux desktop", as Linux is only a kernel that doesn't operate on its own.
The year of the GNU/Linux desktop was in 1995 or so, as finally it was possible to use a recent computer in freedom again - alas that freedom was ripped away with the first proprietary program added to Linux in 1996. -
