     @ai6yr my redneck upbringing taught me that if I needed water while out in the woods to only take it from a fast moving position where the water is crossing moss at the start of a fall. The moss filters and then going airborne reduces odds of bad things. It was still recommended to treat it if possible.

     City people shouldn't do redneck things without adult supervision

     @ATLeagle @ai6yr And even then your odds of getting giardia or cryptosporidium are high in most places. Those diseases are basically endemic at this point, and neither of them are fun.
