   Recently, Capt Liu, who miraculously piloted the Sichuan Air flight 8633 to safety, commented about the Jeju Air tragedy. I am glad he spoke up about this as some Chinese Weibo-ers were being obnoxious about this situation (the less said the better). Sure, a pilot's training plays and essential part, but the inconvenient truth is that luck also plays a big part in surviving air disasters.

     @michaelgraaf yes, a big mystery. And I wonder if they could've survived if the concrete wall wasn't there

     @liztai Watching it slide along towards the wall, one wonders what happened to the engine reverse thrusters normally used immediately after landing.
