     @kaia i don't sync browser data because i use bookmarks only on one device and i copy my keepass file and pictures and songs etc once every blue moon but usually i just wipe my phone regularly

     @kaia git can operate over ssh so if you can ssh somewhere reliably you have git. I use password-store for my passwords so everything is encrypted, but if you host this on some public forge like github someone may be able to see the filenames.
     I use mozilla's server because the bookmarks are like golden sun walkthrough so I don't care

     I like syncthing, but I seldom have my laptop and desktop switched on the same time. so I need a server or something to make it work better. also thought about using phone as intermediary
