   about to try installing gentoo on a 6 year old standalone VR headset that is currently literally unusable otherwise

     the reason it is otherwise unusable is that the app you need to set up the oculus go (horizon) is broken. you can't complete the setup process. so if you factory reset a working device, or buy a used one on ebay, you have a brick
     
     and the oculus go wasn't that useful in the first place

     it will still be unusable with gentoo installed but then at least i can try hacking on one of the various VR desktop environments i am aware of and see if i can make one of them work on it

     @natalie i also have a valve index, but my interest in the oculus go is that i think it would make a neat portable computing device even if all i could do was run regular-ass 2d linux programs but in a VR desktop environment
