@dansup I'm ad-free on Zelda.Zone now and it's nice, but ads are kind of depressing because like, it never needed to be THIS bad. Just like Flash, which was basically killed...well half because adobe sucks and never fixed it, but half because it just got so bad and misused people associated it with the bad uses. Flash ads never should have existed.
...probably still safer and faster than plenty of modern tracker ads tho
@dansup I’m not sure how many folks would be game for using a web browser that injected ads into their experience.
(The popularity of ad-blocking extensions for browsers would tend to undermine how big a gotcha this post is, either.)
@dansup the problem is that most ads are bad taste, ugly and annoying. Like temu, mobile games and stuff like that. If it was something like sponsors, then maybe
