I rarely had problems with health insurance in America. Because I went without for most of my life.

Before Obama care I was an uninsurable. Afterwards I just couldn't afford it. There was no way to make it work between like 15-25k in income. I just slowly declined.

I did try! But it became obvious that it was going to be around half my income, I couldn't afford the co-pays and I wasn't likely to get much care. So I just broke the law and stayed uninsured, so that I could at least afford a room for my daughter and myself.

The best insurance I had stateside was garbage compared to the coverage I had in Canada, especially when I add on my extended benefits from work.
Not exactly looking forward to learning a new medical system in the Undisclosed Location, but c’est la vie.
