Some days I think about moving somewhere ‘nicer’ but most days I also wake up with a ‘I need hot soup noodles for breakfast in the next 5 minutes’ state of mind
But because said soup noodles also have to be great and there should also be variety (at least ten types of hot soup noodles that are good)
I guess I won’t be moving for a while

The idea of having to get into a car to get any food, including and especially hot soup noodles, is also unacceptable to me so I have a very limited no of neighborhoods and cities where I can do this outside of E and SE Asia
Soup is a key pillar of my mental health! And breakfast

@skinnylatte it is very nice to have good food in walking distance. im way out in the burbs and one of my richguy fantasies is to open a tiny slider stand or stoner food outlet or something open til 3am somewhere in my neighborhood - i cant be the only person in my part of town wishing they could get a single slice of pizza at 1am :D

It’s also the kind of soup that takes a really long time to make. My favorite noodle restaurant in my neighborhood for example makes an 18h soup
I could make some stuff! But it’s not the same as also connecting with people who specialize in this stuff

@Viss you need a demand for super late night food for there to be supply I guess. It’s very common to meet your friends or go out with your family at 2 or 5am to eat a snack

@skinnylatte @Viss In Chicago, only a small handful of bars around the city are allowed to be open until 4 AM and those permits are often opposed by neighbors and aldermen. I imagine it'd be quite difficult for a restaurant to legally be open at 4 AM here :/
