Xenotar (xenotar@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 27-Dec-2024 04:05:00 JST Xenotar @TomSwirly @Sarahw @tompearce49 that's my case, only smallpox and polio had vaccines available in 1962 when I took the Sabin's polio drops. I contracted every contagious disease of that time: measles, mumps, chicken pox, rubella. It's stupid to let a child go through that nowadays when there are vaccines to prevent it.

Tom Ritchford (tomswirly@toot.community)'s status on Friday, 27-Dec-2024 04:05:01 JST Tom Ritchford I too am 62. I too got very sick from measles as a small child. 35 years later my dentist could detect this in my teeth!
My parents were strong on vaccinations, but the measles vaccine just didn't exist in the UK yet.

Carolyn (cstamp@mastodon.social)'s status on Friday, 27-Dec-2024 04:26:29 JST Carolyn @xenotar @TomSwirly @Sarahw @tompearce49 It should be considered child abuse. It's ironic that people in other 3rd world countries beg for vaccines for their kids.
