   I knew Spotify isn't paying artists their fair share from streams, but I didn't realise the degree, Compared to Apple Music and Deezer, they pay half as much, and except for Pandora, all the other streaming platforms pay more than Spotify https://www.headphonesty.com/2024/12/spotify-ceo-becomes-richer-musician-history/

     @okwithmydecay Note that those are the figures for total payments for royalties, for someone like Osker Wyld who didn't give up their #copyright. Only 5 % of the royalties on average go to performers. https://mamot.fr/@nemobis/104189296469903761

     So a competitor which happened to pay 20 times more royalties might still be paying even less to artists. There's really no way of knowing, at the moment.

     Apple also has a dedicated classical app, which is excellent.
