     @ryansingel @quinn @linuxfiend Chris was a VPE brought over from salesforce (he was aniti scala at SF) way after (4+ years) the scala based backend was designed and implemented

     Yes, there was a fair amount of scala vs java at the time… but there was no support for Ruby after October 2008

     I convinced twitter to use scala. I put the first scala in production at twitter.

     I did not receive anything close to $10m
