    I recently had a thought that I love deep frying food because everyone who has ever deep friend Chinese or Malay or South Indian snacks for me has done it with great love. Therefore, I don’t see it as a difficult or annoying thing to do. It reminds me of love and care.

    Also why I would much rather whip out my wok and fry stuff in it than air fry. I am not into air frying. It seems fun, but it doesn’t remind me of love

      @skinnylatte as someone who loves deep fried food, but doesn't do it nearly as much as my love would indicate: how do you deal with the oil quantities?

      I generally try to recycle it, but even that, when I'm cooking for me (Charlene isn't into it) ends up feeling super wasteful.

      @Moss @skinnylatte I just air-fryed 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, something I do whenever I don't feel like dirtying up a sauté pan and splattering oil everywhere. The results are always moist and crispy. But, I concede that I do love the taste of stir-fried chicken in my wok.

      @skinnylatte I was given an air fryer recently, and I do use it, but it’s basically just a fancy toaster oven. Convenient but not an act of care, connection, or artistry.

      @skinnylatte @Moss I'm still getting used to my air fryer. (It was an unexpected gift from my in-laws last Xmas). It sort of feels redundant. But I'm learning how to use it to simplify meal prep from time to time.

      @danlyke depends on what I’m frying. If it’s fish I don’t reuse. I use the hardener and toss.

      @skinnylatte I mean, are you throwing it away after one fry? If not, hope are you filtering it for storage and reuse?
