     @lanodan @a1ba seems like this is fine with openssh too, you just have to be careful not to close that session :D
     this feels more like changing network configuration or firewall settings on a remote system tbh

     @novenary @a1ba Which is part of why I love my current router, it's so recoverable (serial via an actual (usb)port, can boot over usb, system on mSATA SSD, …) I'm sure I can't accidentally lock myself out.

     @jernej__s @lanodan @a1ba but that more or less only applies to the web interface
     it can also be somewhat annoying for cases when you *do* in fact want to change the settings in a breaky way, such as changing the router's IP address or the LAN subnet

     @lanodan @novenary @a1ba OpenWRT's had an automatic revert in place for the past several versions, too. After applying new settings through the web interface, if it doesn't get a connection from the browser within 90 seconds, it'll revert to previous settings.
